Poster Gallery Presentations - Meet the Authors

The OR Manager Conference Poster Gallery is an opportunity to present
completed research, in-progress research, performance improvement
projects, or clinical practice innovations visually using graphs,
illustrations, or photographs. We strive to promote communication and
collaborative research among nurses, provide a setting for exchange of
information and lessons learned, and explore advances in perioperative
clinical practice. The poster gallery will be available for viewing
throughout all exhibit hall hours. Attend during these times to meet the
authors and earn your CEs.

Pitchers & Pitches

Join your colleagues on the show floor on Tuesday afternoon and hear
the latest and greatest developments from our vendor partners. The
format is simple - each company will have 10 minutes to give a short
presentation about their products or solutions. You get to hear from
several companies in a short amount of time. This session is all about
efficiency, so grab your glass of sangria, margarita, or iced tea and take
a seat!
AWARDS CEREMONY
4:30 - 5:00 pm
Support your colleagues before the afternoon keynote in our
Awards Ceremony. Five awards will be presented to the best-ofthe-best
in perioperative care. Awards include: OR Manager of
the Year, ASC Leader of the Year, PACU Manager of the Year,
Emerging Leader Awards and Pioneer Leader of the Year.

Leading a Very Different Perioperative Nursing Workforce
Covid-19 has been massively disruptive to healthcare systems
and the nursing workforce. The life-quake experience with
COVID has led nurses to rethink work, their priorities in life,
and how they will manage their careers moving forward. Nurse
leaders now struggle with unprecedented staffing shortages
and high turnover. Perioperative nursing as a specialty has
been significantly impacted by the retirements of so many
experienced OR nurses. Most nurses entering the workforce
today are either Millennials or Generation Z. Retaining these
nurses in the perioperative setting will be more challenging
with a trend of viewing one's nursing career as " tours of duty "
rather than lifetime employment. This session discusses
state-of-the-art strategies and tactics to lead, recruit, and
retain a very different perioperative workforce.

» Discuss how the COVID experience has changed the way nurses
view their work with implications for recruitment and retention.
» Describe how Generation Z and Millennial nurses view their
careers and what they expect from leaders.
» Discuss evidence-based leadership strategies and tools you can
use to manage during these turbulent times.
