The 2020 Jarabak Award winner is Dr. Greg
Huang of PCSO.
The 2020 Blair Award winner is Dr. Thomas
Bales of PCSO.
The AAOF will offer the resident gift again at
the AAO Annual Session in Atlanta.

2020 AAOF Awards Program
The Planned Awards Review Committee (PARC)
met in St. Louis in January 2020 to review the
proposals for grant funding that were received in
November. In March, the award winners will be
notified. We look forward to telling all AAO members about the exciting research that will be funded by the AAOF in the coming year. Please watch
for more details this spring! If you are interested
in applying for funding in 2021, the deadline will
be in mid-November.
Update on New Initiatives
Thank you to everyone who visited the AAOF
Booth at the PCSO meeting in Honolulu. We
are looking forward to attending the upcoming
Anaheim meeting this fall. Thank you for allowing
us to join you.
The AAO Foundation Board of Directors has
voted to continue to offer the Resident Gift
Program at the upcoming AAO Annual Session
in Atlanta. The AAOF believes in education and
research, and the annual session is a wonderful
way for residents to be exposed to some of the
best current orthodontic research and education that is available. Thank you to our donors
who helped make this program possible. To

available to current orthodontic residents who
are AAO student members, register to attend the
meeting, and visit the AAOF booth in the exhibit

AAOF at the AAO Annual Session in Atlanta
The AAOF will be very busy at the upcoming
Atlanta meeting!
Saturday, May 2, we will be sponsoring the
Business of Orthodontics lecture featuring Chris
Bentson, John McGill, and Ryan Moynihan. This
lecture will be worth 3 CE credits.
Also on Saturday, May 2, the PARC will be hosting
an Awards Workshop for anyone who might have
questions regarding applying for funding through
the AAOF. If you are interested in attending,
please email Cheryl Young (cyoung@aaortho.org)
to RSVP so we have a box lunch available for you.
On Sunday, May 3, the AAOF will hold our Annual
Breakfast, where we will be awarding the Blair
Award to Dr. Thomas Bales from PCSO. If you can
attend this breakfast, please register through the
AAO Annual Session meeting site and celebrate
with us Dr. Bales' impact on the profession.
The 2020 Jarabak Award winner is Dr. Greg
Huang from PCSO. Please join us in congratulating him for receiving this honor!
Throughout the meeting, you will be able to find
the AAOF booth in the Exhibit Hall in case you
have any questions or know of a resident who
needs to check in for the resident gift program.
