In November, they raised funds for the Wounded Warrior
Project. They also continued a firm tradition of giving back to the
local community by participating in the annual "Basket Brigade"
drive. They collected food items and gift cards to donate to Manna
on Main Street, which distributed the items to families in need for
the Thanksgiving holiday.
To close out the year, they supported the Montgomery
County Young Lawyer's charity drive in efforts to support Cradles
to Crayons, which helps local families with essentials such as
diapers, wipes and warm clothes. In addition, they raised funds
throughout the month of December for Laurel House, which
provides emergency advice and shelter to victims, often women
and children, of domestic violence.

Friedman Schuman has an established "Giving Back
Committee" that spearheads our charitable activities throughout
the year. At Thanksgiving time, the firm donates a complete
dinner to two needy families in the area. Members of the firm
donate the non-perishable items as well as make monetary
contributions, which are supplemented by the firm to insure
that each family receives a gift-card from the local grocery store
substantial enough to enable them to purchase whatever they
need to complete the meal, including a turkey, if that is their
choice. During the holiday season, we join the "Toys for Tots"
effort as well as collecting "gently used" clothes that will benefit
a local women's shelter or clothing drive (i.e. One Warm Coat).
In addition to our regular support of the Abington PAL, the
American Heart Association, a local Rotary Club, etc., during the
rest of the year we look to support other local charitable activities
that benefit our community. For example, Friedman Schuman
will sponsor any firm member who would like to participate in
the Jenkintown Sunset Run in June, and this year we participated
in the "Feather Our Nest" event to the benefit of the Briar Bush
Nature Center.

As the leaves began to fall, the mood at Hamburg, Rubin,
Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin rose with the anticipation of charitable
holiday giving.

The season kicked off just before Thanksgiving, as members of
the firm placed contributions of canned and other durable goods
into a festive, decorated box in our lobby, which, when full, will be
delivered to Laurel House, a home and resource for abused women
and their children in Montgomery County.
The giving spirit continued as, during the week leading to
Thanksgiving, we packaged and delivered prepared foods to The
Lamb Foundation, a local organization providing supportive
housing and helping to fulfill the needs of senior citizens and
adults challenged by mental and developmental disabilities.
At about the same time, we learned about this year's adopted
family, for whom we made the holidays as bright as possible. Each
year, we "adopt" a family, sent our way via The Dolan Family
Fund, an organization whose mission is to lighten the burdens and
lift the spirits of entire families caring for seriously ill and disabled
children. The Dolan Family Fund provides us with insight into
the specific challenges and struggles facing our adopted family,
and lets us know what hopes, wishes and dreams we can fulfill to
make their holidays special. Members of the firm shop for and
contribute new toys, clothing, gift cards and more. While we
never meet our adopted family, the letters we receive in response
warm our hearts and let us know that, at least for a little while, we
were able to make someone's burden just a little more bearable.
Our firm was pleased to join together to extend the warmest
holiday wishes to each and every one!

The attorneys and staff at Kane, Pugh, Knoell, Troy & Kramer,
LLP engage in philanthropic activities throughout the year. As in
previous years, Kane Pugh has the most lawyer advocates in a firm
in Montgomery County serving Montgomery Child Advocacy
Project (MCAP) with over twenty active child advocates. In
2017, these child advocates donated approximately 300 hours
to help abused and neglected children. Proudly, Kane Pugh has
also partnered with The Montgomery County Office of Children
& Youth to help families at Thanksgiving and Christmas times.
Each year, the entire staff participates in a Thanksgiving basket
drive by assembling entire Thanksgiving dinners in festive baskets
for at least a dozen families to enjoy. Additionally, the entire
firm enjoys the holiday spirit by shopping and wrapping gifts for
children, teens and adults in many families according to their wish
lists. Giving is part of the culture at Kane Pugh as our lawyers and
staff give throughout the year in other ways by volunteering with
their local communities, clubs and schools.
