O

n October 18, 2017, leaders of the Montgomery
Bar Association (MBA) past and present welcomed
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro as their
newest Honorary Member. At a ceremony held in conjunction
with the Bar Association's Council of Past Presidents Dinner
Meeting, present bar officers and a group representing five
decades of past presidents of the MBA gathered to welcome
and pay tribute to the Montgomery County native, who was
sworn in this past January as the Commonwealth's top lawyer
and chief law enforcement officer.

During the ceremony, Council of Past Presidents Chair
William H. Pugh, IV, Esq., and MBA President Eric B. Smith,
Esq., presented a plaque memorializing Shapiro's Honorary
Membership. In accepting his honor, Attorney General Shapiro
expressed gratitude for the meaningful role to which he's been
elected and the passion he shares with those in attendance who
work to uphold the Rule of Law and deliver justice.
Montgomery Bar Association's Council of Past Presidents
consists of the association's past presidents who act as a
sounding board regarding new projects initiated by Bar leaders,
and provide insight and guidance on various Bar Association
issues.
