According to TIPRO, the three
organizations have designed a review
process that invites petroleum
professionals to cast their votes for
persons whom they believe are worthy
of the titles: Best CEO, Best Engineer,
Best Geoscientist and Best Landman.
Professionals who have worked in
the Texas oil and gas industry and are
interested in participating must register
individually on TIPRO's website by

Feb. 1 in order to receive an electronic
ballot and cast a vote within their
respective professions, the association
says. Corporate officers may select
more than one profession in which to
vote.
All registered voters will be sent a
survey by e-mail in late February,
TIPRO adds. The final deadline for
casting votes will be March 16.
TIPRO says votes will be gathered

and tallied by Best Companies Group, a
third party polling and research
company. Survey results will be
announced in a special section within
Texas Monthly's August 2012 issue.
Awards will be presented during
TIPRO's summer conference, Aug. 811 in Galveston, Tx.

AUSTIN, TX.-The International
Association of Drilling Contractors
elected Daniel W. Rabun as its new
chairman at its annual meeting in
Austin.
The IADC Board of Directors also
elected David Williams as vice
chairman. Scott Daniels was elected
secretary-treasurer, replacing Beth
Gordon.
Rabun joined Ensco PLC in 2006 as
president and director. He was
appointed chief executive officer and
chairman of the board the following
year, and now serves as company
chairman, president and CEO. Before
joining Ensco, he was a partner at the
law firm of Baker & McKenzie. He is a
certified public accountant.
Williams has served as chairman,
president and CEO of Noble Drilling
Services Inc. since January 2008. He
previously served the company as senior
vice president and chief operating
officer, senior VP of operations and
senior VP of business development.
Before joining Noble, Williams worked
five years as executive VP at Diamond
Offshore Drilling Inc.
Ronnie Witherspoon of Nabors
Drilling USA LP will continue to serve
as vice president of IADC's land
division, and David Reid with National
Oilwell Varco Inc. will continue in his
role as vice president of the drilling and
well services division, IADC reports.
Thomas Burke, chief operating officer
at Rowan Companies Inc., was elected
as the new offshore division VP.
Lee Hunt was re-elected IADC
president for his 22nd year. Also reelected were Brian Petty as executive
VP of government affairs, Tom Terrell
