BABAFEMI OGUNYOMI is a Ph.D

candidate in petroleum engineering at
the University of Texas at Austin. He
previously worked as a consulting petroleum engineer at Caesar Systems,
where he performed field development
optimization studies, and uncertainty
and economic analyses. His research
interests are in reservoir engineering
and enhanced oil recovery. He holds
an M.S. and B.S. in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas at
Austin and the University of Ibadan,
Nigeria, respectively.

expected to be highly variable. The production signatures indicate that one-dimensional linear flow is adequate in modeling recovery from these reservoirs.
However, at least two time scales were
evident in the production histories of the
wells in the study. An important corollary
of this observation is that any forecasting
effort that does not account for the multiple
time scales will result in conservative ultimate recovery estimates.

and Sharon Ullah endowed chair in
petroleum and geosystems engineering
at the University of Texas at Austin.
His research areas include integrated
reservoir characterization, geostatistics, reservoir engineering and EOR.
A recipient of the Society of Petroleum
Engineers Distinguished Service
Award and a member of the National
Academy of Engineering, Lake is a
past SPE distinguished lecturer. He
holds a B.S. in chemical engineering
from Arizona State University and a
Ph.D. in chemical engineering from
Rice University.
C. SHAH KABIR is global reservoir
engineering adviser at Hess Corporation in Houston. With more than 30
years of industry experience, his experiences include transient testing,
wellbore fluid and heat flow modeling,
and reservoir engineering. Kabir provides technical support for transient
pressure testing, rate transient analysis
and reservoir performance monitoring,
unconventional reservoir performance
forecasting, and capacitance-resistance
modeling in evolving and mature waterfloods. Before joining Hess in 2008,
he served as a consulting petroleum
engineer for Chevron.
