Enterprise Product Gets
Houston Pipeline Support
HOUSTON-Enterprise Product Partners LP says it has executed long-term
agreements to support developing a 416mile, 24-inch diameter pipeline to transport
crude oil and condensate from the company's Midland terminal to its Sealy storage facility west of Houston.
From Sealy, the company says the new
pipeline would link to Enterprise's ECHO
terminal through an interconnect with the
Rancho II Pipeline, which is scheduled to
be in service in July. Through ECHO, Enterprise says customers will have direct
access to every refinery in Houston, Texas
City, Beaumont and Port Arthur, as well
as the company's dock facilities.
The new pipeline will have the capability to provide as much as 540,000
barrels a day of take-away capacity for
increasing volumes of Permian Basin
crude oil and condensate, Enterprise says.
Service is expected to begin in the second
quarter of 2017. The company says it is
adding incremental storage capacity to
support the new pipeline.

Fairmount Is Sharing Ways To Reduce Cost Per Barrel
SAN ANTONIO-Fairmount Santrol
has launched its "Reducing Cost per BOE"
campaign to promote self-suspending
proppant, resin-coated sand, and other
technologies designed to enable operators
to produce more oil and gas at a lower
cost for each barrel of oil equivalent.
The self-suspending proppant employs
a hydrogel polymer coating that hydrates
rapidly in water, which allows the proppant
to resist settling and to stack higher within
the fracture, Fairmount reports. The company adds that in the thin fracturing fluid,
proppant transport improves to maximize
the propped length and height without
polymer damage to the formation and
proppant pack.

HOUSTON-WWT International's new
casing running tool, the WWT FlexShoeTM,
has completed its first deepwater run in
the Gulf of Mexico for Shell.

An 18-inch WWT FlexShoe was run
successfully from vertical to a 28 degree
inclination through doglegs of as great as
3.5 degrees for every 100 feet to a target
depth of 8,000 feet in a soft formation,
WTT relates. The company reports that
the run was completed in 27 hours, with
no problems running the casing to bottom,
cementing or drilling the next hole section
through the FlexShoe.
Shell previously ran a 7-inch FlexShoe
in a horizontal well in the Permian Basin,
WWT reports. The casing run was completed in 13 hours to a target depth of
11,000 feet, at 85 degree inclination,
through doglegs of as great as 20 degrees
for every 100 feet, WWT details.

Baker Hughes Introduces
Cement Evaluation Service
HOUSTON-Baker Hughes has released its Integrity eXplorerTM cement
evaluation service, which it describes as
a radical change in evaluating oil and
gas wells' cement integrity.
Acoustic-based evaluation techniques
have been used for more than three decades
and may not provide adequate accuracy
amid some of today's challenges, the
company says. According to Baker Hughes,
its new electromagnetic-acoustic technology allows operators to directly assess
the integrity of cement bonds in any wellbore environment or cement mixture.
Although cement compressive strength
typically has been used as a key indicator
of cement quality, the company says contemporary environments require a more
detailed assessment. Baker Hughes promises the Integrity eXplorer service provides
operators with accurate and comprehensive
data about the properties of the respective
cement, enabling them to make critical
decisions to protect their assets, reduce
nonproductive time, and minimize unnecessary remediation.
