LAGCOE Names Recipients Of New Technology Award
LAFAYETTE, LA.-The Louisiana Gulf
Coast Oil Exposition has announced the
recipients of the 2015 New Technology
Showcase awards. The honors are sponsored
by Drilling Contractor.
Six LAGCOE-exhibiting companies have
been selected to showcase their new technology, with one company recognized twice.
Each company will present a 10-minute
overview of its innovations to industry
leaders and LAGCOE attendees, LAGCOE
details. The exposition says the awards recognize companies with revolutionary technologies that advance the process of discovering and producing oil and natural gas.
The 2015 recipients are:
* Concentric Pipe and Tool Rental,
for its Superior Safety Wrench System;
* Halliburton, which received awards
for both its VersaFlex XtremeGrip expandable liner hanger system and its SaltShield
cementing service;
* Hypertherm, for its plasma, laser and
water jet cutting products;
* PhdSoft, for its structural integrity
software;
The ASI-X tubing anchor from D&L Oil
Tools offers exceptional durability, D&L reports. The company explains that the mechanically-set, double-grip anchor is
based on its proven ASI-X packer design.
With its durable ASI-X packer parts, redress is quick and economical, D&L says.
The double-slip design allows the anchor
to be left in tension or compression, depending on well conditions and the required application, the company adds. The
J-slot design allows easy setting and releasing, D&L states, adding that the variety
of J-body configurations available enable
it to be set in tandem with other packers.

LAGCOE says all technologies were
reviewed by a panel of judges and selected
based on five criteria: new, innovative,
proven, broad interest and significant impact.
None of the winning technologies is more
than two years old, the show adds.
LAGCOE is scheduled to take place
Oct. 27-29 at the Cajundome and Convention
Center in Lafayette. The award winners
will present their technologies from 10 to
11:30 a.m. on Oct. 28.
