The LAGCOE Future Energy Professionals Program, established through the
LAGCOE Education Fund to encourage
students to pursue technical positions
that fuel the world, will double in size
from LAGCOE 2013 by offering both a
morning and afternoon program. High
school students are given a tour of LAGCOE led by a Young Professionals of
LAGCOE volunteer and a University of
Louisiana-Lafayette engineering ambassador for a hands-on experience with the
technology and mechanics of the oil and
gas industry.
The third annual LAGCOE Career
Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Oct. 29. Supporting professionals in transition, this event hosts energy companies
seeking employees and career development
sessions to aid professionals as they work
to keep skills fresh and seek employment.
Young Professionals of LAGCOE is
wrapping up the inaugural year of its new
mentoring program. A luncheon will be
held at noon on Oct. 29 to promote de-
veloping productive relationships, engaging
positive networks, and building leadership
skills through industry mentoring. This
event is open to "mentor/mentee" pairs
of Young Professionals of LAGCOE and
individuals interested in participating.
For the first time in its 60-year existence, LAGCOE will award a new CadillacTM to a winning industry attendee at
noon on Thursday. Attendees qualify for
the drawing simply by visiting six exhibitors identified on maps located in the
LAGCOE program guide.

Lauren Rabalais is marketing coordinator for the Louisiana Gulf Coast
Oil Exposition, and is responsible for
media relations, social media, and internal and external organization communications. Before joining LAGCOE
in 2014, she worked in nonprofit communications and marketing for the Upper Lafayette Economic Development
Foundation and the Foundation for
Historical Louisiana. Rabalais holds
a bachelor's in mass communication
from Louisiana State University.
LLOG Exploration Hits
50 Feet Of Gulf Oil Sand
HOUSTON-LLOG Exploration confirms it has encountered more than 50
feet of net oil bearing sand at its Gulf of
Mexico "Crown and Anchor" prospect
in Viosca Knoll Block 959.
LLOG says it is the operator of the
well with a 60 percent working interest,
while Stone Energy Corp. and private
equity firm Ridgewood Energy hold minority interests.
The firm remarks that the oil was encountered in the Miocene formation, and
it is evaluating subsea development options
for the project.
