The meeting at Big Cedar Lodge on
Table Rock Lake south of Branson, Mo.,
gets under way with registration at 1 p.m.
on Sunday, Oct. 18, he says. The OIPA
Board of Directors will meet at 1:30 p.m.,
followed by a welcome reception from
4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. A chuck wagon
dinner will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The breakfast buffet on Monday, Oct.
19 begins at 7:30 a.m., and the general
session will run from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m.
Tony Mastin, executive director of the
Oklahoma Tax Commission, will include
an update on the last roll-out of new tax
reporting processes, Terry says. "We
have the tax incentives that passed yearbefore-last and there is a new reporting
system at the OTC," he reviews. "It has
a new software program, and our producers
need to understand the system."
Another speaker will be Mark Parker,
technology manager at Halliburton, who
will talk about refracturing, Terry says.
"Refracs may help producers survive this
oil price slide by increasing volumes
without having to spend all the money
necessary to drill a new well," he suggests.
"If refracs are successful, it may be possible to double or triple production without
spending as much."
OIPA also wants to address new artificial lift technologies during the meeting,
Terry adds, an issue of great importance
to OIPA members active in the Mississippian play.
The speaker for the keynote luncheon
will be Yoram Ettinger, former Israeli
ambassador to the United States, who
will speak on "Saudi Arabia versus President Obama and Secretary Kerry," Terry
says.
"Ambassador Ettinger is based in
Jerusalem, but he is a consultant who
spends time with Jewish contingencies
in New York," Terry describes. "He is
going to talk about this Iranian deal that
may affect us in a lot of ways, not only
in terms of national security, but also financially if the Iranians dump a bunch
of oil on the market."
The luncheon also will see a member
inducted into OIPA's Hall of Honor. Activities resume at 6 p.m. Monday with a
visit to the Branson's renowned Top of
the Rock restaurant, Terry says.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, a breakfast buffet
will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by a
general session scheduled to run from
8:45 to 10:45 a.m., he indicates. The
conference concludes with the Fall Classic
Golf Tournament at Buffalo Ridge Golf
Club in Hollister, Mo.
