The Nevada Division of Minerals, headed by Administrator
Richard M. Perry, is responsible for administering the permitting,
development and production of oil, gas and geothermal resources
in the state. The division is overseen by the Nevada Commission
on Mineral Resources, which is composed of seven members appointed by the governor. The commission formulates the policies
of the Division of Minerals.

Nevada is treated as a single geographic region for administering oil and gas regulations, but much of the state's oil and gas
operations are on public lands administered by the U.S. Bureau
of Land Management office in Reno under the direction of (VACANT), deputy state director for mineral resources, 775-861-6585.

Under Director David Catanach, the Oil Conservation Division administers all state oil and gas regulations as a division of
the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, a cabinet-level agency headed by Secretary David Martin.
New Mexico is administered in four districts, the supervisors
of which are responsible for monitoring oil and gas field operations and enforcing regulations within their respective districts.
