AFGlobal says its next-generation
RGH system provides a flexible solution
for adding riser gas management and
managed pressure drilling capabilities to
dynamically positioned and moored rigs.
The purpose-built design efficiently mitigates gas in deepwater drilling, and the
company says the system handles retrofits
and new builds using specialty riser joints
and equipment, all of which are transparent to rig processes.
According to Baker Hughes, Integrity
eXplorer uses electromagnetic-acoustic
transducer sensors to directly measure the
strength of the cement bond and give operators the ability to verify zonal isolation
and make critical downhole decisions

with confidence, regardless of cement
weight or contamination. The sensors
can obtain accurate cement weight measurements down to seven pounds per gallon, making them ideal for evaluating contaminated, lightweight and foam slurries.
Liquids Separation
FMC Technologies' compact, lightweight InLine ElectroCoalescer uses a
high-frequency, alternating current with
high voltage to polarize, coalesce and enlarge water droplets, maximizing oil production and allowing for hydrate-free export through long-distance subsea
pipelines. Installing the system upstream
of a separator greatly increases separation
capacity, according to FMC, resulting in
debottlenecking in older facilities and
reduced demulsifier injection/heating system energy consumption in applications in
new or old fields.
The SeaPrime I subsea BOP multiplex
control system allows drilling contractors
to continue drilling if components of one
pod fail, reports GE Oil & Gas. Utilizing
only two pods, the new design simplifies
access to critical components and reroutes failed functions within a pod to deliver three times more availability without
increasing maintenance, the company
says.
Halliburton says the density and rheology unit (DRU) is the newest development in its BaraLogix real-time automation services. The DRU autonomously
measures fluid density and rheology in real
time to provide accurate, traceable and
trending analysis of fluids data to reduce
risk, increase efficiency and keep drilling
operations on track, Halliburton says.
Featuring a modular design, the unit is
ATEX and Zone 1 certified.
The LankoDeep fiber rope from
Lankhorst uses a new "12x3" braided
strand design, balance-load-bearing capacity and flexibility while remaining neutrally buoyant in water, the company explains.
Lankhorst adds that LankoDeep is part of
a soft rope system designed cooperatively by Lankhorst, DSM Dyneema and
Deep Tek that is capable of handling
heavy loads at depths in excess of 3,000
meters.
Supplemented with preprogrammed
and automated commands, RPACT uses
virtual connection technologies such as a
vessel-to-vessel radio frequency link,
satellite (Internet) link, or subsea optical
link to control ROVs at remote work
sites, according to Oceaneering. Processing software analyzes video feeds, determines spatial distances, and recognizes
shapes to enable appropriate movement of
