PIOGA Names Weaver
To Replace D'Amico
As Head Of Association
WEXFORD, PA.-The Pennsylvania
Independent Oil & Gas Association's
Board of Directors says it has selected
Daniel J. Weaver as the association's
next president and executive director.
Weaver, PIOGA's public outreach
director, will replace Louis D'Amico,
who is retiring after 22 years of leading
the association.
Weaver, 37, has served as public
outreach director since 2012. He
previously held leadership positions
with the Drake Well Museum in
Titusville, Pa.
"Dan Weaver has a genuine passion
for Pennsylvania's oil and natural gas
industry and the people who work to
safely produce the energy we use every
day," says PIOGA Chairman Gary
Slagel. "The Board of Directors is
confident he will work hard to represent
the interests of all the members, and to
allow oil and natural gas production to

continue to grow in the years ahead."
Weaver has led PIOGA's effort to
educate both students and the public
about energy issues, including developing
a K-12 study course on oil and natural
gas that meets Pennsylvania's educational
standards in history, civics and
government, economics, and science and
technology, PIOGA says. From 2008 to
'10, Weaver worked to develop and fund
the Mobile Energy Education Training
Unit at the Drake Well Museum. Since it
opened, the portable classroom has
visited 157 schools.
D'Amico says he will consult on a
part-time basis with Weaver and the
PIOGA staff for four months to ensure a
smooth transition.
"I have spent the past several years
working with Dan Weaver on the
challenges facing oil and gas producers,
midstream companies, and end-users.
He is well prepared to take on this
responsibility, and serve the interests of
the men and women in the
commonwealth's oil and gas industry,"
D'Amico affirms.
Slagel praises D'Amico's years of
service to Pennsylvania's oil and gas
industry, saying there has been no
greater champion for the energy sector.
"He has been at the forefront of
every issue faced by our members
during his tenure with this organization
and its predecessor, and his many
contributions will be greatly missed,"
Slagel says. "We wish him the best of
luck with his retirement." ❒
