2A-2C in the vertical section. Numerous
offsets, including many that are compressional in nature, can be interpreted
that were not at all evident in the original
seismic data or when using a single similarity attribute.
The 2-D color map in Figure 4B shows
a close-up of a single compressional fault
with remarkable detail in the offset in
the Eagle Ford Shale. The on-lap of highresistivity, greyish-gold facies are connoted
by white arrows. An underlying doublered downlap is located by the black arrow.
Note that the former is evident as fill in
the parting of the latter at the fault in the
Eagle Ford. Offset actually is most subtle
here in the Upper Eagle Ford Marl.

Patricia Santogrossi is a senior geoscientist at Geophysical Insights, and consults on
applications of the company's Paradise® multi-attribute analysis software platform. With 40
years of industry experience, she previously served as a reservoir geoscientist and projects
manager at Statoil USA. She also worked in domestic and international research, exploration,
leasehold and field appraisal assignments for Shell, Marathon Oil Company, and Arco/Vastar
Resources, as well as chief geologist for Chroma Energy and Knowledge Reservoir. Santogrossi
holds a B.S. and an M.S. in geology from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
