Zilift Uses Slim-line Cable
To Deploy, Retrieve ESP
ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND-Zilift has
achieved a world first by installing, operating and retrieving a slim-line cable-deployed electrical submersible pump under
live well conditions, the company relates.
The installation of the ESP, deployed
through 3½-inch tubing, was conducted
in a California well during November,
and included full wellhead termination
and pump operation, Zilift says.
The company describes the demonstration as game-changing, explaining that
in many parts of the world, rig costs are
the most significant factor in downhole
pumping economics. Zilift says the trial
shows that rigs are no longer essential to
ESP operations, saving rig costs and eliminating the deferred production that otherwise would occur when an ESP fails
and no rig is available.

EnLink Divests Pipelines To Fund STACK Project
DALLAS-EnLink Midstream has agreed
to divest its 31 percent common ownership
interest in Howard Midstream Energy Partners LLC, and has closed a separate transaction to sell 140 miles of natural gas transportation pipelines in the Barnett Shale.
The two transactions' net proceeds total
$275 million, EnLink reports. The company
says they will fund the majority of expected
equity needs for its 2017 capital expenditures, including the $100 million Chisholm
III facility and the first installment payment
of $250 million related to its January 2016
acquisitions of certain subsidiaries of Tall

Inc. reports it has unveiled an integrated
commercial information solution that
combines the Quantix™ drone with its
Decision Support System™.
According to the company, which
notes it is the leading drone supplier to
the U.S. Department of Defense, the
Quantix drone marries the safety advantages of vertical takeoff and landing with
the range, reliability and efficiency of
fixed-wing aircraft.
AeroVironment says operating the
drone requires only three simple steps:
* First, the operator traces a finger
over a map on the tablet control device
to indicate the area of interest.
* Second, the system guides the operator through a simple, automated preflight check to ensure a safe, reliable
mission.
* Then the operator presses the "fly"
button and Quantix does the rest, including

processing capacity at EnLink's Central
Oklahoma system by 200 million cubic
feet of gas a day, EnLink describes. When
the project concludes, which the company
says is expected to occur by the end of
2017, the system's total processing capacity
will be 1 billion cubic feet a day, almost a
threefold increase since 2015. EnLink says
the expansion will help it support producers'
robust activity in the STACK play.

The new company will operate under
the BJ Services brand and will be headquartered in Tomball, Tx., Baker Hughes
details. BHI says it will contribute its
North American land cementing and hydraulic fracturing businesses, while CSL
will contribute its Allied Energy Services
platform, which provides hydraulic fracturing and cementing services on land in
North America. In addition, CSL and
WSEP together will contribute $325 million
in cash, with $175 million going to the
new company and the remainder going to
Baker Hughes.
"With a strong balance sheet and deep
operational expertise, the new company
will benefit from a sharp focus on pressure
pumping to respond quickly to market dynamics and better serve customers," says
Martin Craighead, chairman and chief executive officer of Baker Hughes. "In line
with our asset-light strategy, this ownership
model enables Baker Hughes to participate
in the North American land pressure pumping market, while reducing capital intensity
and maximizing shareholder value."
Warren Zemlak, president and CEO of
Allied Energy Services, will serve as BJ
Services' CEO.

million hydraulic horsepower and more
than 240 cementers, and an owned-facility
footprint throughout North America to
