Oxnard Tamale Festival: December 1, 2018, Free
Oxnard is home to some of the best Mexican cuisine in
the Golden State. Featuring the Best Tamale contest and
delicious dishes from local chefs and home cooks, this
is a celebration of the tamale. Taste many renditions of
this popular specialty of kitchens across Latin America
while enjoying music and live entertainment.
Don't Miss: Folkloric dance troupes and bands at Oxnard Plaza Stage.

Channel Islands Harbor Parade of Lights:
December 8, 2018 , Free
The festive holiday season launches at Channel Islands
Harbor with a parade of boats decked in twinkling lights.
Fifty-three years strong, all-day events are capped by the
floating spectacular, starting at 7 p.m. Pass the time with
activities or at harbor restaurants until the main event.
Don't Miss: Dine and enjoy the view. Watch the parade
from one of Oxnard's waterside restaurants.
Celebration of the Whales Festival: March 24, 2019,
Free for all ages
Every year, Pacific grey whales pass through Oxnard's
coastal waters en route to their birthing lagoons in Baja
California, Mexico. Cheer these gentle giants - during
the longest migration of any mammal on earth - with
food, drinks, entertainment and whale watching excursions at Channel Islands Harbor.
Don't Miss: Education exhibits, arts and crafts and
games at the Maritime Museum.

California Strawberry Festival: May 18-19, 2019, $12
One of the country's top food fests, this sweet affair offers
rides, attractions, live entertainment, over 200 arts and
crafts vendors, celebrity chef demos, more than 50 food
booths and treats made with Oxnard's famous strawberries at Strawberry Meadows of College Park. Simply join
the revelry. Every dollar you spend benefits local charities.
Don't Miss: The annual "Berry Blast-off" recipe contest.
Chefs test, prepare and submit the top entries from the most
creative cooks. Then two finalists face off at the main event.
4th of July Festival at Channel Islands Harbor:
July 4, 2019, Free
Celebrate Independence Day at the coast, enjoying waterfront activities and the county's only seaside fireworks
show beginning at 9 p.m. Prep for the finale with activities such as the 4th of July Children's Parade or Channel
Islands Harbor 4th of July 10K Race and 5K Fun Run/Walk.
Earn that beer and BBQ!
Don't Miss: The Electric Boat Parade, featuring patriotic-themed electric boats cruising the east and west channels of the harbor.
Oxnard Salsa Festival: July 27-28, 2019
Prices start at $5.
Some like it hot! From top Latin Jazz and salsa bands to
kids' activities and salsa tastings to shopping and dancing, summer's liveliest festival is heaven for foodies and
fun-seekers.
Don't Miss: Dancing with the community's salsa stars.
