old beer on a warm summer day, now that’s a treat. But a warm beer, not so much. It was this concept that made Buddy Abraham an entrepreneur. You can read about it in this issue. Abraham took a unique, niche concept and turned it into a product. Then he added to it and made several more unique products. But it was the product manufacturing that initially held him back, as he didn’t know sheet-metal production. But today his is a success story, and along the way he learned a lot about sheet-metal production. You might be wondering about the front cover. It shows a robot using a fiber laser to weld an assembled auto part in an enclosed booth. It was shot through a special protective glass because of the safety requirements of a fiber laser. Unlike a CO2 laser, it requires more overall protection from the beam. I couldn’t just photograph the process standing next to the robot while it was welding. Therefore, the special glass, the camera’s flash and a little Photoshop software manipulation produced a very unique photo where the beam can be seen.
