SIX THINGS TO DO AT KBIS

unning a large trade show is really very similar to
hosting a party - except this party is for 80,000
of my closest friends. You spend countless hours
preparing for your guests, and at some point in
the middle of the night you look in the mirror and
ask yourself out loud if you are nuts for doing this.
Well, the countdown to KBIS 2017 is on, and fortunately I haven't asked myself that question yet...
This is, however, a labor of love for myself and the countless professionals
who help us pull together KBIS each year. We simply could not produce this
event without this incredible team we have developed over the years.We have,
as always, developed this experience based on your feedback and ultimately
with you in mind.
So, you only have three days to navigate one million square feet of exhibits,
work in 70 Voices from the Industry sessions, experience countless on-theshow-floor activities and of course attend the dinners and various receptions.
Wow, sounds like a lot to do. Where do you start?
While there is truly something for everyone at KBIS, I encourage you to
add the following to your agenda:
* Design & Construction Week® Opening Ceremonies with Keynote
Speaker, Peyton Manning. If you ever wanted a leadership pep talk,
this is for you.
* KBIS Design Bites.This has been dubbed as speed dating for brands and
will highlight 14 of the most innovative new products coming to market,
as judged by our advisory board.
* Tuesday, Jan. 10th @12:00 p.m. - Kevin O'Connor (host of "This Old
House"and "Ask This Old House") will be our host for Kitchen Day
on the KBISNeXT Stage.
* Wednesday, Jan. 11th @12:00 p.m. - Jeff Devlin (HGTV & DIY
Network host) will be our host for Bath Day on the KBISNeXT Stage.

* 3rd-Annual KBIS Innovative Showroom
Competition. This event celebrates innovation in the showroom at the critical point of
sale. Join us on Tuesday, Jan. 10th @3:00 p.m.
on the KBISNeXT Stage to learn the secrets
and strategies of some of the most successful
small, medium and large K&B showrooms
in the country.
* 30 Under 30. Come join us at the KBISNeXT
Stage as the NKBA hosts 30 of the sharpest
professionals in the kitchen and bath industry
under the age of 30. These presentations will
offer insights into the latest trends, technologies and innovations in our industry.
* KBIS Backyard. An extension of our popular
outdoor product pavilion, the KBIS Backyard
in the South Hall will highlight outdoor living
products and design through live demonstrations.We have also created this environment as a
place for you to have some great food,cold drinks
and reconnect with friends and colleagues.
* The Bash. NKBA will host one of the most
anticipated parties of the year for all Design
& Construction Week® attendees on Jan.
11 at Mango's Tropical Cafe. Please go to
