KENNEDY CITED BY
A New Wheelhouse
reg Howe is a globe-trotting, guitar-clinicteaching, concert-performing fusion
monster. He's known for taking risks and
pushing his playing into fresh environments.
His latest album, Wheelhouse, shows the guitar-
ist coming full circle to delve into the stylistic
tropes that brought him worldwide attention.
Crammed with funky grooves and wah-imbued
soloing, it also contains soul-drenched blues,
swing, and a guest appearance by Richie Kotzen.
Greg Howe: Fred Morledge.
The Musicians Hall of Fame, Nashville, honored producer/guitarist Jerry
Kennedy by naming its theater after
him during a ceremony on October
26. The event included a discussion
with Kennedy and museum director
Joe Chambers during which the honoree recalled his favorite songwriters
and sessions, including playing guitar
on Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman."
Kennedy also his expressed admiration for the musical careers of his
sons, Gordon, Bryan and Shelby.
Among those in attendance
were Ray Stevens, Ricky Skaggs,
Steve Wariner, and Billy Swan.
