APTA Announces Slate
Of Nominees
APTA MEMBERS will vote on the
2017-2018 slate of nominees Oct. 7 during the APTA Annual Meeting in Atlanta.
Nathaniel P. Ford Sr., current APTA
vice chair and chief executive officer,
Jacksonville (FL) Transportation Authority, was nominated to be chair and
David M. Stackrow Sr., chairman, Capital District Transportation Authority,
Albany, NY, vice chair.
Chair Doran J. Barnes, executive

CA, will serve as immediate past chair
through 2018 and Kim R. Green, executive director of business development
at Genfare, will continue as secretarytreasurer through 2018.

New CEOs Named
Kranda, SolTrans
SOLANO COUNTY Transit (SolTrans), Vallejo, CA, has named
Beth Kranda its new executive director, effective Aug. 28.
She succeeds Mona Babauta, who stepped down in April for a
position with Golden Gate Transit.
Kranda is deputy director of transit for Santa Rosa, CA, the city's Beth Kranda
senior public transit position. She previously served as chief executive officer of Valley Transportation Services (VTrans) in San Bernardino County,
CA, and with San Bernardino Associated Governments and Los Angeles Metro.

Capelle, Laketran
THE LAKETRAN BOARD of Trustees meeting in Lake County,
OH, unanimously voted to promote Ben Capelle, the current deputy
general manager, to general manager following the July 31 retirement of Raymond Jurkowski.
Capelle joined Laketran in 2012 as operations manager and was

named deputy general manager in 2016. He was general manager
of Clermont Transportation Connection in Clermont County, OH, worked for First
Transit and was a bus operator at Kent State University and Ohio State University.
He serves on the APTA Small Operations Committee.

Robbins, HART, Honolulu
THE HONOLULU AUTHORITY for Rapid Transportation
(HART) Board of Directors has named Andrew Robbins its next executive director and chief executive officer, effective Sept. 5. He succeeds Interim Executive Director and CEO Krishniah Murthy, who
will temporarily remain with HART to allow for Robbins' transition.

Robbins, a senior executive with Bombardier Transportation, has
substantial experience in public passenger urban rail, infrastructure and other areas.
For APTA, he serves on the Automated Transit Technical Forum, High-Speed & Intercity Passenger Rail, Public-Private Partnerships and Rail Transit committees and the
Streetcar Subcommittee.

Williams, Interim, COTA
EMILLE WILLIAMS, vice president of operations for the
Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) in Columbus, will become
the agency's interim president/chief executive officer effective
Oct. 1, following the Sept. 30 retirement of President/CEO
W. Curtis Stitt.

Williams joined COTA in May 2016 and previously was chief
engineering officer for Philadelphia's Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority.

St. Amant, Interim, ITS America
THE INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION Society of
America (ITS America) has named David St. Amant interim president and chief executive officer following the departure of Regina
Hopper to become senior vice president of global public policy
for GRIDSMART Technologies. St. Amant is a past chair of the ITS
America Board of Directors and affiliate principal of CAVita. APTA
has a memorandum of understanding with ITS America.

Marootian, Acting, District DOT
DISTRICT DOT, Washington, DC, has named Jeff Marootian
its acting director effective Aug. 11, when the current director, Leif
Dormsjo, steps down to join engineering firm Louis Berger.
Marootian came to DDOT from U.S. DOT earlier this year. He was
appointed by President Obama to serve as White House liaison

for administration and was DOT's chief sustainability officer. Previously he was a
customer service officer with DDOT. Dormsjo, a former Maryland DOT official, was
named to the DDOT position by Mayor Muriel Bowser in 2015.
