Other Key Professionals: Brent Scarbrough and Co., C&M Masonry, Hotel and Restaurant Supply and Caldwell Tanks The GEO Group’s Riverbend Correctional Facility is a public-private partnership detention facility built to house 1,500 offenders in Georgia. The $71-million project included 14 separate buildings and had a designbuild schedule of just 16 months. The team overcame unforeseen challenges including unsuitable soils, rock blasting and remediation of three streams. Resolving these issues left just 10 months for construction after the permits were received, but the team met the client’s late request to deliver the project one month early. Engineer & Specialty Consultant: Coffman Engineering, Inc. Specialty Contractor: Dinsons As part of the USAID’s Pakistan Reconstruction Program, CDM Smith designed and built four earthquake-resistant schools in the Bagh District of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan. The program rebuilt many of the schools and hospitals destroyed by the devastating earthquake of Oct. 8, 2005.
