Alaska Airlines’ “Airport of the Future” replaces traditional ticket counters with customer friendly check-in kiosks and introduces an international arrivals corridor, a new “Board Room” airline lounge, an inline baggage system, new fire and life-safety systems, finish upgrades and a communications system that supports all airlines. The Kiewit/Sundt Joint Venture developed an innovative design-build approach that delivered the project in less than nine months, instead of the two years originally estimated.
