NETWORKING LAMP ’12 A record 2,600-plus industry professionals descended on Orlando, Fla., for GAMA’s 2012 LAMP (Leadership and Management Program). Tis year’s theme, “Leading for Tomorrow,” not only reflected aspects of the host city itself (hint: Disney World’s Tomorrowland), but also promised numerous leadership development opportunities to help members down the road. Among the hot speakers at the general sessions were longtime industry heavyweights Nick Murray and Joe Jordan, along with popular ethnographer Simon Sinek and inspirational fireballs Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour and Anthony Robles. Practitioner highlights included Guardian agency stars Abraham Ekstein and Shrage Posen; Principal Financial Group business development chief Donald A. McLaughlin, M.S.M., CLU ChFC; and “Tactical Coach” Mark Sheer. Meanwhile, Ken Gallacher, CLF FSS LUTCF RFC, delivered his information-packed presidential address. In addition, there were jam-packed special events like the brand-new Women of GAMA Leadership Session and Networking Reception, the wild and wacky LAMP Kickoff Superhero Party, and the always-classy Celebration of Excellence Banquet.
