Hameed Aswad Mohammed is a graduate
research assistant pursuing his doctorate degree in
the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at
Oregon State University (OSU). His research is in the
broad area of traffic operation and safety, with an
emphasis on driver behavior at signalized intersections. He is a student member of ITE, and he is actively engaged in
the OSU ITE Student Chapter.

David S. Hurwitz, Ph.D. is an associate professor of
civil engineering and director of the Driving and
Bicycling Simulator Laboratory at Oregon State
University (OSU). Dr. Hurwitz conducts research,
teaches classes, and serves on a variety of national
committees in the areas of transportation operations
and safety with a particular focus on transportation human factors.
Dr. Hurwitz is an active member of ITE and advises the OSU ITE
Student Chapter.
Edward J. Smaglik, Ph.D., P.E., is an associate
professor of civil engineering at Northern Arizona
University, Flagstaff, AZ, USA with more than 9
years of academic research and teaching experience.
He currently serves as a member of multiple national
committees on traffic signals and operations and has
taught courses in the area of traffic signals and studies, urban
transportation planning, and intelligent transportation systems, as
well as served as the principal investigator on transportation related
projects covering a wide range of operational and multimodal topics.
He is an ITE member.
