10th Annual ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl
Grand Championship Tournament Recap
The 10th Annual ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl Grand Championship Tournament was held at the
2019 ITE Joint International and Texas District Annual Meeting and Exhibit in Austin, TX, USA
in July. This year again saw a very exciting competition as ITE student chapters from Canada
and the United States competed to test their knowledge of ITE, transportation planning, and
engineering topics-as well as some fun categories. Since 2009 when the traffic bowl program was introduced throughout Canada and the United States, 115 student chapters have
participated in an ITE Section- or District-level Traffic Bowl.
During the 2019 season, 62 student chapters in Canada and the United States fielded
teams to compete in Section and District tournaments. More than 210 ITE student members
competed in these events that were primarily staged during ITE annual District meetings. At
the 2019 Joint ITE International and Texas District Annual Meeting and Exhibit, the ITE District
champion teams listed at the left competed.
The Grand Championship this year featured two schools returning from an appearance in
2018, two schools returning from an absence of a year, two schools returning from an absence
of four years, and three schools making their first appearances.
One student made their fourth appearance and another their third appearance in a Grand
Championship. Four students made their second appearances in a Grand Championship
tournament.
