absolutely. His flatpicking, fingerpicking, banjo and harmonica
playing, and of course baritone

Scorching solos, crunchy tones,

cover of "Goldfinger" and

olden-days blues but all new

Basics
Loomis does exactly what the
title says here, laying down funk,
soul, and riff-based rock that
cuts right to the matter. While
plenty of cuts bring the funk, the
highlight is the ballad "Prayer."
Great lyric, fantastic chord
changes, and a big, melodic
guitar solo make it the best of 13
cuts that showcase his considerable writing and guitar skills. - JH

the sweet spot between Black
Sabbath and hardcore punk,
with low-tuned riffs galore.
"Happy Trails To Hell" brings
to mind Motörhead and kicks
ass with massively distorted
guitar and bass tones. If you
prefer the tone of monster
amp stacks, listen to Chained
to the Dead's "Beast from the
East" - a sweet combination
of extreme volume, wattage,
