a note from the editor Behind the Scenes Congrats! He asked and you said yes. You’re now officially a fiancée. But while you're enjoying your engagement bliss, there is a task at hand— planning your big day. Admittedly, it can be a daunting challenge to consider, but it need not be. Sierrastyle Weddings magazine is here to help. Step One: Get organized! Seems easy enough, obvious even, but have you ever noticed that the simplest advice is often the last heeded and the toughest to implement? Don't let yourself be overwhelmed—take a deep breath and get started. Step Two: Get Help! Planning your wedding is no easy task. And, it will go much easier with some help. Your bridal dream team This team will be your advocate with vendors, and help keep your budget on track so that you are focused on your primary goal: Having the most amazing and enjoyable “big day” ever. And, they'll be there to help you celebrate every nuance of your engagement, wedding planning, your wedding day and ultimately your new life as a married. Step Three: Set Your Budget! It's important to know how much you can or want to spend on your wedding. Rest assured, you can have a beautiful wedding no matter the budget. So while you are readying your wedding plans, the Summer/Fall 2008 issue of Sierrastyle Weddings renews its vow: to help navigate the murky, sometimes rough, waters of pre-matrimony. It is our continued goal to present you with ideas and inspiration, all with a local flair. In this issue, we bring you 21 amazing real weddings featuring couples in and around the Sacramento area, unique honeymoon ideas no matter the length of the getaway, gifts for the bride to groom and everyone in between, ideas on beauty and etiquette, and, of course, the Style Files: A Local Wedding Planning Resource Guide jam-packed with local vendors, tips, ideas and helpful hints. Last but not least, we turn the spotlight on our cover model finalists: Michelle, Megan and Mitzi. Three stunningly gorgeous, witty and funny young women who, on a recent spring day, glammed it up for our cameras for our fashion layout. Ladies, supermodels have nothing on you! And, of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t thank these ladies, as well as all of our contributing vendors and dedicated editorial team for their tremendous hard work and contributions.
