parents and teared up—they knew what was coming,” Ben says. He popped the question the first night of the trip when he felt the moment was right. “It couldn’t have been more special,” Jennifer adds. Back in Auburn a few days later, the planning began. Tres Fabu Event Planning coordinated Jennifer and Ben’s special day. The Goodnow wedding was held at Jennifer’s parents’ home in Auburn, a perfect natural setting for the couple’s tastes. The lush green landscape of willow trees, the calming sound of the trickling stream running through the property, and the aesthetics of the pond provided a lovely backdrop for the ceremony and reception. “My dad takes the cake for the best father ever!” Jennifer says. “He spent four months landscaping, contracting, and planning before the wedding. He even planted flowers to spell out JEN + BEN. How cute is that?” On September 8, 2007, with one hundred and eighty guests there to share in the festivities, Jennifer and Ben exchanged their personally written vows. The reception followed with black and white geometric pattern décor, accented with kelly green, and mirrors, resulting in a glamorous, modern look. Guests dined on food from three different food stations offering Greek, American, and Japanese cuisines, catered by All Seasons All Reasons. “The reception was just what we wanted,” Jennifer remembers. “Lively, fun and upbeat.” The Goodnows danced the night away with family and friends, then took off for their honeymoon in Aruba. But it wasn’t until two months after their wedding that Jennifer and Ben received their best wedding present— news that Jennifer was pregnant. In July, the couple will be welcoming their new baby boy to the world.
