Blackened copper-finished lanterns flank the elegant, antique glass display cabinet. A classic Cape Cod house in a quaint neighborhood in Edina, Minn., was in need of a Cape Cod-style kitchen restoration to reflect the architecture of the home, which is exactly what designer Rosemary Merrill of Casa Verde Design accomplished for her clients last April. What is now a beautiful space with subtle design elements, hardwood flooring and white-painted cabinets and doors definitely didn't start out that way. The previous 80s-style kitchen design was tight, and the counter space was limited - almost nonexistent. Although the actual footprint did not change, Merrill worked her magic to expand the space visually. Before www.kbbonline.com / February 2014 + K BB 87http://www.kbbonline.com
