AVIWEST Enhances
DMNG Capabilities

UAE: At CABSAT, AVIWEST will
demonstrate enhancements to
its Digital Mobile News Gathering
(DMNG) system, including cloud
capabilities. Using the platform,
broadcasters can capture and
broadcast live HD or SD video over
multiple networks, including bonded 3G/4G cellular wireless, Wi-Fi,
Ethernet, and satellite. AVIWEST
will show the DMNG APP for Android or iOS-based devices. Using
the App, video professionals can
stream high-quality, live video content or transmit prerecorded video
ﬁles to the DMNG Studio receiver.

Egripment 205/D
Digital Remote Head

UAE: Egripment Support Systems
will unveil its 205/D Digital Remote
Head at CABSAT. A replacement
for the company's Minishot Digital
and Super Shot Heads, the 205/D
is fully compatible with all Egripment Digital Remote and VR/AR
Systems. The 205/D seamlessly
integrates with the company's TDT
Encoded Camera Crane and Dolly,
the 225 G-Track Generic Track
System and the Encoded StarCam
Studio System.
It can be inverted and/or externally mounted, offering users a variety of unique and creative angles.

Cobham Debuts
NanoVue HD

UAE: Cobham will debut its NanoVue HD receiver and Solo 8 transmitter at CABSAT. The NanoVue HD
is a lightweight handheld receiver
to view, test and share HD video
feeds directly from virtually any
platform. It includes a high-quality
day/night viewing screen, on-board
recording and fast secure IP connectivity for a multitude of off-site
uses. The Solo 8 miniature transmitter supports dual HD-SDI inputs
and offers a 30% improvement in
picture quality while maintaining
low power consumption.
The facility is scheduled to go live
on March 28, 2015.

Ikegami Launches HD
Upconverter
I

kegami has chosen CABSAT 2015
to launch its Unicam HD range of
broadcast camera systems with the
introduction of the Super Resolution
Technology (SRT) HD to 4K upconverter.
A plug-in board for the BS-98 Base
Station, the new Ikegami HD to 4K
upconverter
performs
intelligent
upconversion from 1920 x 1080i
and 1920 x 1080p (2K) HD source
standards to 3840 x 2160p (4K) UHD.
The upconverter is compatible with
Ikegami
HDK-790GX/79GX,
HDK970A/97A and HDK-97ARRI cameras.
With its Super Resolution Engine, the
Ikegami upconverter can detect edge
artefacts caused by DTL correction
in 2K source signals. Intelligent

processing ensures that
these edges are not
exaggerated during the
upconversion.
Also on show at CABSAT
2015 will be Ikegami's
HC-HD300 3-CMOS studio
camera system which
makes its MEA debut.
The HC-HD300 is a compact dockingstyle camera for studio or ﬁeld
operation. An aggressively-priced
addition to Ikegami's broadcast-ready
Unicam HD product line, it meets the
same high standard of imagery and
has the same rugged construction.

UAE: Imagine Communications will focus on the transition to IP technologies
for the broadcast and media industry
at CABSAT 2015.
Presentations will centre on content
lifecycle technologies, from creation to
multi-screen delivery, emphasising the
transition from baseband to softwaredeﬁned networks. "The advantages
are too clear to be ignored," said Paul
Wallis, Sales Director for the Middle
East and Africa at Imagine Communications. "Software-deﬁned networks and
IP connectivity make broadcasters and
facilities more agile, scalable and costeffective. "Broadcasting simply cannot
continue to demand bespoke hardware
and interfaces."
Imagine says its Magellan SDN
Orchestrator control system, which
allows traditional and IP-enabled
workﬂows to be managed from the
same interface, is key to this transition.

GBR: Megahertz is attending CABSAT
2015 to build on its strong position in
the Middle East.
A team of engineers and systems
architects will be on hand to discuss
the challenges for the industry,
including the transition to IP
connectivity. Megahertz has been

Ikegami's HC-HD300 3-CMOS studio
camera system

with a newly developed control
system. This consists of an FA-300
ﬁbre adapter and (1.5RU) BSF-300
base station.
When using a hybrid ﬁbre camera
cable, the base station provides power
to the ﬁbre adapter and the camera
itself.

UAE: Bluebell Opticom is gearing up to
show a range of products at CABSAT.
Products on show will include:
the BC364 compact rack-based
multiformat converter for use with
a wide range of broadcast video and
audio signals; the BN366 4K Fibre Link
designed for the transport of 4K UHD
signals; and the BN623 Audio, Data,
Intercom Link - the latest addition
to the Bluebell BlueNano range of
compact ﬁbre optic interfaces, which
provide bidirectional analogue audio
and serial control data over ﬁbre.
At CABSAT 2015, Bluebell Opticom will
launch the Caddie-LB 4K, speciﬁcally
designed for OB and deployable
applications.
Caddie-LB 4K provides a single cable
link between cameras and ENG/OB
units. Features include four 3G/HD/SDSDI video paths from the camera's onair audio, intercom, and control data.
