in ﬁbre-optic-based video and audio
transport solutions for professional
A/V and broadcast applications.

MultiDyne
will
showcase
an
expanded line of SilverBack 4K
camera-mounted
ﬁbre
transport
solutions,
which
now
support
any existing 4K camera. The new
SilverBack 4K5 enables users
to broaden the range of
their existing 4K cameras
by converting any quad-link
4K camcorder to a 4K live
fully systemised camera,
connected to a base station
with a single ﬁbre cable.
The SilverBack 4K5 provides
a full-bandwidth ﬁbre-optic link
between any quad- or dual-link 4K
camera and the truck, control room, or
'video village' position. By putting all
of the signals needed for multicamera
4K/UHD TV production onto a single
tactical or SMPTE hybrid ﬁbre cable,
the system ensures robust, troublefree connectivity, whether used in the
studio or at a remote location.
MultiDyne will introduce a new line

of highly affordable, compact, and
portable signal conversion modules
called the Mini eXchange Series. These
feature a small, ﬂat-form factor that
facilitates easy installation behind
a monitor, in the back of a rack, or
directly on a camera rig. All Mini
eXchange Series compact converters
are covered by MultiDyne's renowned
seven-year warranty and a 'no
questions asked' replacement policy.
Also on display will be the MultiDyne
4K-4000 ﬁbre-optic transport system.
Designed to address the tremendous
data requirements involved with
delivering 4K/UHD digital television,
the 4K-4000 enables users to
transport a 4K signal over one singlemode ﬁbre. The cost-effective unit
is portable or rack-mountable,
offering users a high degree
of ﬂexibility. There is also a
card version for the openGear
platform with SNMP management
and redundant power.
The MultiDyne BullDog is a rugged
ﬁeld-based ﬁbre transport system that
packs a wide range of functionality
into a compact package. In addition to

demonstrating the standard compact
version, MultiDyne will highlight two
larger-sized units that pack even
more functionality into a rugged and
compact form factor.
Using
the
BullDog,
camera
operators can signiﬁcantly extend
the transmission distance of multiple
camera signals, including HD-SDI
video, audio, intercom, control data,
Ethernet, GPIOs, tally, and power.
In addition to transporting any
camera signal over a single ﬁbre cable,
the BullDog can efﬁciently transport
up to eight HD-SDI signals in any
direction.

Ultra-HDTV Camera

itachi Kokusai Electric Turkey will
stage the ﬁrst ever Middle East
showcase of its SK-UHD4000 4K Ultra
HD TV broadcast camera system at
CABSAT.
The camera system provides
advanced 4K UHD performance
capabilities and a straightforward
upgrade pathway since it can use the
2/3-inch B4 mount lenses found in
conventional HD broadcast cameras.
From
studio
production
to
documentaries, sports or live-events,
the camera system offers an elegant
migration pathway from HD to 4K Ultra
HD TV.
The use of standard HD lenses with
the SK-UHD4000 eliminates the
need for special conversion adapters.
This feature allows broadcasters to
effectively use their existing lenses and
shoot video in 4K.

broadcasters to use their existing lens
stock, allowing them to continue using
these valuable assets.
Operationally,
since

SKUHD4000 has a 2/3 inch prism, optical
characteristics, such as depth of ﬁeld
and focus, will be the same as a 2/3
inch broadcast HD camera.
