THE BLOOMING City of Magnolia is as vibrant as
the images it conjures. With its Southern charm and
warm hospitality, Magnolia welcomes visitors with
historic homes and beautiful Magnolia blossoms. A
short walk in our thriving downtown will introduce
you to a selection of boutiques, unique stores, eateries
and entertainment opportunities.
Interested in the arts? We have several beautifully
hand-painted murals that will certainly catch your eye,
as they add a touch of color and history to Magnolia
and Columbia County. Take a stroll to enjoy each one
and get to know our story through the beauty of local
talent.
As you continue your journey into our beautiful city,
you will find that we love to enjoy time outdoors with
our neighbors and friends. Along with our recreational
venues, which include a boating and fishing lake and
numerous thriving parks, the county boasts several
annual world-class festivals and events - including
the renowned Magnolia Blossom Festival. Along with
outdoor entertainment, our city also offers a four-year
accredited university, so there is always something
happening.
Named for Christopher Columbus, Columbia County

encompasses over 766 square miles, and is home to
more than 23,000 residents. Founded in 1852, Magnolia
has created a name for itself with its natural resources.
From cotton in the 19th century, to oil, timber and
natural gas in the mid-20th century and later bromine,
this city has continued to grow through industry.
Our largest manufacturing employers in Columbia
County include Hydro Extrusions, Albemarle, Amfuel,
CMC, Weyerhaeuser, Deltic Timber, Anthony Oaks and
Southern Aluminum. Non-manufacturing employers
include the Magnolia School System, Southern
Arkansas University, Magnolia Regional Medical Center
and Columbia County government.
In addition to SAU, Columbia County has Logoly
State Park, Lake Columbia, Emerson Purple Hull Pea
Festival, McNeil's Festival on the Rails, an active arts
program, educational and medical facilities, shopping,
dining, entertainment and available housing. These
are just a few of the wonderful things Magnolia and
Columbia County have to offer visitors and those
looking for a new home.
