How productive are the stacked tight oil formations such as the Wolfcamp, Spraberry and Bone Spring? The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that new-well oil production per rig has increased more than fivefold since 2012, putting total Permian oil output on pace to soon double from the 1 million barrels a day produced only five years ago. It is no wonder the Permian has moved into a class of its own, setting the pace for North American field activity and the global standard for applying state-of-the-art services and technologies.
