REAL WEDDINGS Michael broke out into a 30-second “Thriller” dance routine, before the real performance with his new wife. And now the couple, rooted in eye contact at a dance club and strong after a six-month hiatus (“six months of hell,” Michael says), is stronger than ever. “We’re very much aware that the reason why were together is the Lord brought us together,” Jennifer says. Divine providence or not, now they have the validation that the two of them really are meant to be. Jennifer agrees. “It was ultimately a spiritual choice, but it also brought the intensity of our relationship up that much higher. We realized there was so much more to being together than just being intimate,” she says. The wedding itself, held at Library Galleria, reflected the same sense of spirituality that makes Jennifer and Michael’s relationship so strong. “I wanted people to see the truth in why we’re together, what God has done for us, and to see that our commitment was serious,” Michael says. The wedding was also an outlet to show the couple’s personality. Michael used the ceremony as a time to honor one of his two best friends, who passed away last year, by having his best man hold his friend’s framed photograph next to the altar.
