Special Exhibits: Star Struck Special Exhibit featuring a collection of Mary Green Cloth Dolls S pecial exhibits are made possible each year due to the generosity of our chairs and those who bring their precious dolls to convention. Every year attendees are treated to displays of unique and rarely-seen dolls.This year is no exception. Our tentative list of exhibits include the following: ★★ Star Struck - This exhibit will focus on our theme with a display of celebrity dolls from stage and screen as well as historical figures. ★★ Japanese Fashion Dolls - Alan Pate has arranged for this very special display of rare Japanese fashion dolls from a local private collector. ★★ Paper Dolls - The Independent Spirit Doll Club shares their collections of paper dolls for your enjoyment in their exhibit "Paper Dolls- Japanese Celebrities and More." Fashion Doll ★★ A Tribute to R. John Wright - A display of R. John Wright's celebrity dolls will honor our souvenir artist. ★★ 70 Years of UFDC Souvenirs - This exhibit, sponsored by our Collections Oversight Committee, will display every convention souvenir for the past 70 years from the UFDC Museum collection. ★★ Effanbee Historical Dolls - On exhibit will be the wonderful American Composition dolls on the 80th anniversary of their presentation at the 1939 World's Fair. Rarely-seen dolls from both the Nancy Carlson collection, now part of the UFDC Museum's collection, and the special 21-inch display dolls from the collection of Barbara Cominski, will be the highlight of the exhibition.
