RESOURCES Leading From the Front Leading From the Front, GAMA’s new development program for experienced frontline leaders, launched in April 2012. Two classes are currently under way — one open-enrollment and one company-specific, with a total of 26 participants from four different companies. Te program, a blend of on-site and virtual classes with individual and group coaching sessions in between, is made up of seven modules: “Master Sales Leadership,” “Optimize Recruiting,” “Optimize Selection,” “Accelerate the Launch,” “Elevate Performance,” “Grow Your Business,” and “In the Footsteps of Leaders” (capstone). It also features a 12-month business plan, a coaching model, and a leadership competency assessment. Leading From the Front culminates on the battlefields of Gettysburg, Pa., where GAMA has partnered with the Gettysburg Foundation to offer a customized leadership development experience that uses the critical Civil War battle to highlight the impact of leadership communication and decision making. The Essentials of Leadership and Management GAMA’s flagship program, Te Essentials of Leadership and Management, continues to challenge and inspire agency and firm leaders. In 2012, 10 classes were held, with a total of 172 participants. Te following companies hosted Te Essentials in FY 2012: n Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. n Farm Bureau Financial Services n Farmers Insurance Group n Guardian Life Insurance Company of America n Modern Woodmen of America n Mutual of Omaha n Te Principal Financial Group n Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company n Trivent Financial for Lutherans Field Leadership Series Twenty-five Field Leadership Series workshops, generated by GAMA Foundation research, were held in FY 2012, with 469 participants.
