drilling permit process. Through various
software and hardware improvements to
its information technology program, Porter
said the commission had advanced to
processing only 9 percent of expedited
drilling permit applications in one-three
days in spring 2014 to 50 percent last
November.
"This process is an example of why,
over the past decade, when the rest of
the nation faced one of the worst economic
downturns in more than half a century,
our state's economy has been able to
thrive because of our energy industry,"
he proclaimed.
