Gabe Antoni, Bentley
The Falcons beat RIT twice despite being outshot
96-55, and Antoni was a key
reason. The senior goalie
relieved an injured Jayson
Argue in the Nov. 13 opener
and allowed no goals in a
3-2 overtime win. A night
later, he stopped 36 shots as
Bentley won by the same score in OT.

Freshman Shane Starrett (Bellingham,
Mass.) saw ample playing time in the Air
Force net during the opening month of the
season, appearing in eight of the Falcons' first
10 games. The South Shore Kings product
notched his first collegiate win Nov. 6, when
he came on in relief of classmate Billy Christopoulos and helped Air Force rally for a 5-4
overtime victory at Mercyhurst. The rookie
goalies are part of a major youth movement:
Of the eight defensemen on the roster, seven
are either freshmen or sophomores. ...
Holy Cross showed signs of a revitalized
offense early in the season, scoring an average
of three goals through the first 10 games - a
big boost from the Crusaders' 2014-15 average
of 2.27. A boost in production from sophomores Ryan Ferrill (10 points) and Brett
Mulcahy (five goals) helped the Crusaders
pack some more punch. HC's 7-5 win at Brown
on Oct. 31 marked the team's biggest scoring
night in almost three years. ...
After allowing 47 goals in their first eight
games (all losses), the AIC Yellow Jackets
seemed to be heading for more disappointment when they fell down two goals to
defending regular-season champion Robert
Morris on Nov. 6. But a pair of Johno May

the No. 20 Colonials - the Yellow Jackets'
first-ever triumph vs. a ranked team. ...
Bentley lived up to its reputation as a
power-play powerhouse early in the season,
scoring on nine of its first 31 chances. That
29.0 percent rate ranked the Falcons fourth
in the nation through Nov. 15. Freshman
Tanner Jago played a key role in that
success, recording five of his team-high nine
assists on the power play. ...
Sacred Heart freshman netminder
Brett Magnus put on quite a show in
defeat Nov. 14, making a school-record
64 saves at Penn State. The two teams combined for a whopping 112 shots on goal in
the game, which Penn State won 3-2. ...
After tallying three points (all assists)
last year, senior defenseman Greg Amlong
has been a key offensive contributor for the
RIT Tigers thus far. The former UMass-Lowell
River Hawk posted a team-best five goals
along with two assists through 11 games. ...
Robert Morris senior forward
Greg Gibson had 16 points through
eight games, making him one of only two
players in the nation to average two points
per game.

With the bulk of
nonleague games
in the book, Atlantic
Hockey teams can
look back on a few
impressive upsets,
but the overall
picture's not so rosy.
Through Nov. 15,
the 11 AHC teams
combined for a
9-35-3 record
against out-ofconference foes.
