senior goalies - Sam Merrill and Jimmy Graham -
is a luxury not many other teams can claim.

berwick Academy

Coach: Jeoff Jarnot
2014-15 record: 10-16
Players to watch: Anthony Cosentino, D, sr.;
Byron Welch, F, jr.; Sam Twombly, D, sr.; Sean Hayden,
F/D, sr.; Matt Kenneally, G, PG
Outlook: First-year head coach Jarnot will be
looking to establish some stability in the program and
will look to do so by preaching two-way hockey for
all of his players. The Bulldogs return a solid core of
veteran blueliners who will be expected to chip in on
the offensive end. Former Bishop Hendricken goalie
Kenneally arrives as a postgrad, giving Berwick another
solid veteran option between the pipes. Jarnot's hope
is that his team continues to grow with each practice
and game, while the seniors step into leadership roles
that "will pay dividends for several classes to come."

Canterbury School

Coach: Padraic McCarthy
2014-15 record: 8-17-4
Players to watch: Travis Schneider, F; J.D. Pogue,
F; Tim Decker, G; Ryan Lynch, F; Kyle Lynch, F; Joonas
Rautianinen, D
Outlook: With leadership and depth in full force,
McCarthy knows that the Saints' biggest challenge,
as always, will be "to get many new faces acclimated
to the prep level and intensity." Schneider, Pogue and

Decker, who won the bulk of the minutes over two senior netminders last season, will captain the ship. The
ultimate goal for this group hasn't changed, and that
is "to be striving for a team that's stronger in February
than it was in November," per their coach.

Cushing

Coach: Rob Gagnon
2014-15 record: 25-4-4, lost to Dexter in Stuart/
Corkery quarterfinals
Players to watch: Matt Dillon, D; Ethan Roswell,
D; Ben Barton, D; Max Brainin, F; Brent Hill, F; Jeff
Morgan, F; Gavin Dykeman, G; Joey Halstrom, G
Outlook: Replacing arguably the top line and one
of the top goalies in prep hockey from a year ago is
no tall task, but if any program is up to it, it's Cushing.
Carroll, one of the best two-way players at this level,
alongside Roswell and Barton, will make the defense
tough to penetrate, and if other teams are to succeed,
they'll need to beat either Halstrom or Dykeman in net.
"Coupled with some really strong incoming forwards
and defenders, there should be plenty of firepower to
remain a top team," said Gagnon.

dexter

Coach: Dan Donato
2014-15 record: 21-6-4, lost to Salisbury in
Stuart/Corkery championship
Players to watch: Jack Donato, F, sr.; Pat Daly,
F, sr.; Kevin Hock, F, sr.; Ryan McDougall, D, sr.; John
Femia, F, jr.
Outlook: While there will be a void left on the

offense with the departure of Ryan Donato to Harvard,
it should be filled in well enough by the return of Daly,
who scored a team-high 27 goals last season. Ryan's
brother, Jack, is a well-seasoned forward who will
chip in nicely, as well as Hock who had 36 points in
the team's Elite Eight run last year. Liam Moore, C.J.
McKennitt and newcomer Aidan Murphy will provide
heavy competition for minutes between the pipers, but
Coach Donato knows "it will take a total team effort for
Dexter to return to the finals of the Elite Eight again."

The gunnery

Coach: Chris Baudo
2014-15 record: 20-6-2, lost to Dexter in Stuart/
Corkery semifinals
Players to watch: Cameron Donaldson, F; Gustaf
Westlund, F; Chad Varney, F; McKay Flanagan, D; Josh
Gagne, D; Trevin Kozlowksi, G
Outlook: The Gunnery has had some great successes
over the last few years and looks to continue that trend
with a deeply skilled roster at each and every position.
Baudo sees the strength of his team being "a combination
of speed and skill," and he is hopeful that newcomers are
able to adjust to life at this level quickly. The two biggest
question marks are how quickly will the new guys adjust
and how long will it take for the team to come together
and fully buy in. Having the imposing Kozlowski (6-foot-4),
who had a .925 save percentage last year in net, will only
help things trickle up ice for the Highlanders.

Hebron Academy

2014-15 record: 15-11-4
Players to watch: Ryan Boucher, F; Colin McKay,
D; Philippe Gilmour, F; Sean Kimura, D
Outlook: After graduating a good portion of last
year's roster, the Lumberjacks will look toward their
defense and size to carry them this season. "The team
is dedicated to putting in the effort to be considered
for the Piatelli/Simmons tournament," noted LeBlanc.
Helping those efforts will last year's top goal scorer,
Boucher (14 goals), who is considered one of the top
prep forwards. Hebron also could benefit greatly from
its power-play unit, where LeBlanc sees an "increased
skill level."

Hoosac

Coach: Ryan Bailey
2014-15 record: 5-19-1
Players to watch: Noah Lane, D; Eric LeBlanc, F,
Yan Bouchard, F, Will Stewart, D
Outlook: Eight players return to the mix, so it
will be imperative for the 16 newcomers to acclimate
themselves to the system quickly. As one of three new
members of the Holt Conference, the competition will
be heady but will provide some integral on-the-job
training. LeBlanc and Bouchard will lead an offense
that will run four lines, and puck-moving D-man Lane
will pair up alongside Stewart to provide leadership
along the blue line.

Kents Hill
