rains is now Wales' largest
brewer and hospitality
company. Its name proudly
sits above the door of more
than 200 pubs across Wales and the
south west, with its award-winning
beers enjoyed across the UK, in pubs,
supermarkets and specialist outlets.

In 1882, Samuel Arthur Brain and his uncle
Joseph Benjamin Brain, combined their
brewing experience and financial resources
to brew the first pint of Brains beer. Family
owned since that time, a grand total of eight
members of the Brain family have guided
the company through tumultuous times
including two World Wars; the threat of
prohibition and difficult economic climates.
Throughout its history, Brains has
expanded far beyond a small Cardiff
Brewery into a leading Welsh business
and the iconic 'pint of Wales.' When you're
looking for somewhere to eat, meet or
sleep, in the city, by the sea or tucked in
the wonderful Welsh countryside, they
have a venue to suit all customers.
Brains continues to be innovative,
growing and establishing the Coffee#1
chain and winning 'Coffee Chain of the
Year' at the Cafe Life Awards 2015 for the
sixth time in seven years!
