Jane Bransgrove, Head of
Portfolio Management

After graduating with a
degree in accounting and
ﬁnancial management at
Loughborough University,
Jane worked brieﬂy with
a bank before moving
into investment management and taking
her investment management exams. She is
currently Head of Portfolio Management
within the Asset Management division
at Charles Stanley.
'I think people today are
looking for a broader wealth
management service in
addition to traditional
stockbroking,' she says.
'The industry is important
to help individuals
provide for their future
and for organisations
such as charities to ensure
their funds continue to
support their work.'
Charles Stanley, with its

says. 'One of the company's targets is to
achieve top quartile staff engagement
which includes staff development. There
are plenty of opportunities to take a proactive approach and get involved

Pauline Fernandes,
Investment Adviser

Pauline studied for a
BA (Hons) in Financial
Services and after
graduating, focused
on investment planning
and discretionary
fund management, an area which
particularly interested her.
'Now I have passed my Investment
Management exams, Charles Stanley has
given me the authority to deal with clients
on an advisory basis. As an Investment

Adviser I continue to ensure my industry
knowledge is up to date, keeping abreast
of the prevailing economic environment,
looking for investment opportunities
for our clients.'
Pauline is also optimistic about her
future with the company. 'Charles Stanley
attempts to ensure its employees have
a voice in how it evolves over time and
it regularly seeks their input,' she says.
'Participating in helping the company
grow will, I believe, lead to greater
opportunities for me as an individual. As
a company, Charles Stanley recognises
wealth management is a personal service
and its main assets are its staff.'

'MY PROGRESS
SPEAKS FOR ITSELF'

Tsitsi Mutiti, Investment Adviser

Tsitsi joined Charles
Stanley in 2007 as an
administration assistant.
'It was never my
intention to work in
ﬁnance as I was never
good at numbers,' she says. 'But shortly
after joining the ﬁrm I realised the wealth
management world was not as scary as I
thought. So, over the years my role in the
ﬁrm evolved, from typing letters and ﬁling
to assisting with the preparation of six
monthly reports for our clients about
their individual portfolios, and carrying
out research on speciﬁc sectors. I also
have the opportunity to meet with clients
and give investment advice.'
And there's no reason her career should
stop there. 'Charles Stanley's human
resources department is very conscious
of the importance of professional and
personal development of its employees,'
she says. 'To that end, the ﬁrm provides
training courses to help employees at
different levels in their careers.
'My own career progression is a live example
of how someone can progress in the ﬁrm.'
