FOCUS : NEWS MIND THE GENDER PAY GAP The average woman will earn nearly £300,000 less than the average man over her working life, according to new research. Shockingly, that works out at a gap of 24% in average full-time annual salaries between men and women. Women and Equalities Minister Nicky Morgan has finally announced plans to do something about the issue. It will become mandatory for companies with 250 or more employees to publish whether they are paying men more than women. Although this gender pay gap data won't have to be made public until 2018, there'll also be league tables to highlight companies who are falling short - as well as those who are championing equal pay.
