At 9:15 a.m., the topic turns to leasing
in a stacked play and what to expect in the
New York drilling business, by Dan Silber,
client project manager at Elexco Land
Services, and Gregory Mountain, partner
in The West Firm, Gill says.
Moving Marcellus gas to market and
Northeast pipelines will be addressed in a
panel session moderated by Gary Marchiori,
president of EnergyMark, beginning at
10:30 a.m. Panelists are John Polka, assistant vice president at National Fuel Gas Distribution; Preston Troutman, director of business development at Tennessee Gas
Pipeline; and Josh Eakle, director of producer services at Dominion Transmission.
The shale geology discussion with Bajek begins at 11:30 a.m., and at noon, the
topic of discussion is prospects and challenges in Northeast natural gas demand, by
Paul Hartman, regional director of state affairs at America's Natural Gas Alliance.
After the 12:20 p.m. lunch, Gill notes,
a panel discussion about a multifaceted approach to water issues starts at 1:30 p.m.
Paul Hart, president of Fluid Recovery
Services, will moderate. Panelists are

Karl Kimmich, president of Lion Energy,
and Elton "Sparky" DeLong, president of
EWD Enterprises.
At 2:30 p.m., Kevin Garber, shareholder
and environmental attorney at Babst
Calland, will address the Pennsylvania
Chapter 78 experiences and their implications for New York, Gill continues.
The last panel session is scheduled for
3 o'clock, with moderator Tim Wright, vice
president of supply at EnergyMark, focusing on what every New York operator
needs to know about the new PSC initiatives.
Additional panelists are John Holko, president of Lenape Resources; Timothy Hull,
vice president/Appalachia for Empire Energy Exploration and Production; and James
Macfarlane, vice president of exploration and
operations at Minard Run Oil Co.
The fundraising cocktail reception for
Astorino, who Gills notes has been confirmed as New York's Republican gubernatorial candidate for this fall's election,
will be at 5 o'clock. In addition to Astorino,
Gill says Ed Cox, chairman of the New
York State Republican Party, and several
state legislators also will attend.
"This event will be open to all of Astorino's supporters, and will afford attendees one-on-one time to discuss our industry issues in New York, along with oth-

er topics," Gill remarks, adding: "We
hope to have a great turnout of gracious
supporters who share our mission of unseating Governor Cuomo in favor of a governor who supports our industry and has
publicly endorsed developing unconventional resources in New York," Gill declares.
Following the reception for Astorino,
Gill says IOGA NY will host a general
cocktail reception in the Peek'n Peak ski
lodge, which he describes as a networking
event open to all attendees. "This social
event is highly charged with new faces and
old friends. This year's event features a tripdown-memory-lane slide show presentation
looped all evening with photos of years
past, including pictures of oil and gas folks
who are now gone as well as many who still
are working in our industry," he says.
On Thursday, July 17, leisure activities
and networking opportunities include a golf
tournament, sporting clays shoot, barbecue,
and an outdoor equipment show, Gill notes.
"As you can see, there are many reasons
we are excited about this year's summer
meeting," he enthuses. "We encourage all our
members to attend and learn about the important issues that affect their day-to-day decision-making in the field and in the office."
