Data mining and pattern recognition technology based on public production data, well design parameters, reservoir properties and operational information successfully modeled the production behavior of the unconventional Niobrara asset in the Wattenberg Field using publicly available data accessed through COGCC's website. Fuzzy pattern recognition categorized each reservoir region according to production history, helping identify underperforming wells that could be candidates for restimulation operations. Moreover, the artificial intelligencebased model regenerated the production histories with acceptable accuracy. The model proved to be a practical tool for production forecasting and sensitivity analysis, and the outcome of the TDM project can provide useful guidelines for reservoir management.
