Besides Dan’s grandfather officiating the ceremony, a decision kelly describes as “very special,” her maid of honor Nada proved an eager and willing songstress, as well as an unexpected hit, as she frequently serenaded the couple and the crowd with equal verve. “I don’t think anybody has ever had a maid of honor like ours, so it was fun,” says kelly. ”So fun in fact that Nada was even passed the ‘mic’ from the Dj, who, not to be outdone, incited an evening of endless dancing, first by playing an uptempo wedding party dance to journey’s unlikely but always victorious, “Don’t Stop Believing,” and then with his own dancing, which earned him the nickname, “Rubberband Man.” kelly says, “our friends really know how to have a party”—one that began and ended on the consistently packed dance floor, but was also celebrated throughout the day with clever touches like “lucky in love” lottery ticket wedding favors, and a tight-knit group of the couple’s family and friends who celebrated without let-up. “our wedding was just filled with so much love,” says kelly, who credits an abundance of affection for making the day the “happiest” and “most amazing” of her life and that of her husband’s—a couple that refers to their union as the inevitable fate of two soulmates.
