Specialisms at North Warwickshire and
South Leicestershire College include:
STEM subjects (science, technology,
engineering and maths) are a major
government focus. With an extra 130,000
people expected to be working in
engineering over the next five years in the
Midlands1 it's a priority for the region too.

HEALTH AND LIFE SCIENCES
The healthcare sector is set to boom in the
next few years, with 41,000 more skilled
people predicted to join in the next three
years2. The college has established links
with NHS trusts and provides a number of
full-time and apprenticeship programmes.
According to the Construction Industry
Training Board (CITB), the current skills
shortage is the biggest barrier to growth
for the construction sector in the UK -
80,000 new construction workers were
needed to meet demand in 2016 alone.
The college has a specialist construction
facility in Hinckley, providing learners
with a real-life working environment.

of projects with the private sector, including
the building of a technology institute at
the MIRA business park on the A5. We also
plan to offer courses from Level 2 to Level 6
for the automotive industry in conjunction
with three university partners. There has
