Bolton is a friendly, bustling
town surrounded by countryside
and just 20 minutes' drive from
Manchester. The university is
based on a modern, compact
campus close to the centre of
town, and is easily accessible by
public transport and car.
The town is home to the
acclaimed Octagon Theatre and
the Bolton Little Theatre, whose
patron is Sir Ian McKellen. There
is also award-winning comedy
at the Albert Halls, as well as
cinemas, art galleries, museums
and many live music venues.
There are plenty of sporting
activities too, from matches
at Bolton Wanderers FC to the
university's top sports facilities
at Bolton One. Here you'll find
an eight-lane, 25m swimming
pool, a 50ft climbing wall and a
therapeutic hydrotherapy pool,
plus a fitness suite, aerobics
studio, gym and sports hall.
Many staff take advantage of
these on-site facilities before
or after work and during lunch.
Employees benefit from generous
discounts on gym membership,
while swimming is free of charge.
